Code has a long history , There is no way to trace why it is written like this .

I wonder for a moment , See the two-tier business , I think of Spring Transaction propagation mechanism , The previous understanding is rather superficial .

No special configuration , Naturally, the default transaction propagation mechanism is adopted , That is to say Propagation.REQUIRED.

International practice , List the transaction propagation mechanism :

No business at the moment , Then create a transaction ; There is a business , Just join the transaction , This is the most common setting .
There are currently transactions , Just join the business , There is currently no transaction , Just in a non transactional way .
There are currently transactions , Just join the business ; There is currently no transaction , Throw an exception .
Create a new transaction unconditionally .
To execute in a non transactional manner , If there are currently transactions , Just suspend the current transaction .
Run in a non transactional manner , If there is a transaction , Throw an exception .
Before you start a transaction , Save one first savepoint, When an exception occurs , Just roll back to savepoint; When there is no abnormality , Commit or roll back with external transactions .

The specific reason

1、 Look at the transaction propagation mechanism above , Continue to refine the problem , The inner and outer layers share one transaction , The inner layer throws an exception , Can cause the entire transaction to fail .

2、 Continue analysis , The outer logic goes on try catch, As a result, the inner layer exception cannot be thrown upward , Outer affairs will continue to submit .

3、 Transaction commit , Determine the transaction state , It turns out that this transaction failed , Need to roll back , So it threw out Transaction silently rolled back because it has been marked as rollback-only It's abnormal .

How to solve ?

Of course, there is no silver bullet , Choose the right solution according to the business scenario .

1、 The current scene , Just put the... In the outer logic try catch Remove it . The anomaly goes straight up , Transactions will not continue to commit , What the caller gets is a first-hand exception ;

2、 If the inner layer is not the core logic , Keep a log or something , You can configure the inner transaction to @Transactional(rollbackFor = Throwable.class, propagation = Propagation.REQUIRES_NEW), in any case , All create new transactions , Outer affairs are not affected by inner affairs . But there's a problem , Outer affairs failed , The inner transaction still puts the records in the database , It's possible to generate dirty data ;

3、 If outer affairs fail , Inner transactions cannot be committed either , Then you can use it @Transactional(rollbackFor = Throwable.class, propagation = Propagation.NESTED). Be careful :hibernate/jpa Nested transactions are not supported NESTED, You can use JdbcTemplate Instead of .
